Kruger National Park, Talamati : Lockdown Day 193 - Monday 5 October

Lions still at the carcass. Vultures still in the trees. Fewer hyenas hanging about. And still lots of rain.
We are happy to have a house to hang out in. Memories of Oktoberfest in Munich are popping up on Facebook. Crowds crammed into indoor spaces, singing arm in arm with strangers, sharing food and beer. That's normal! Not this weird altered universe we find ourselves in right now. As a second wave of Corona takes hold in Europe and the UK I am wondering if we'll even get any of our festivals and gatherings back in 2021!
And with the UK and the US etc. on South Africa's Red List for travel, I can't see anyone being able to "Come home for Christmas." Very sad.
