Heading South from Edinburgh we crossed the border back into England. We detoured to drive onto Lindisfarne Holy Island. We had to rush to make it back onto the mainland to beat high tide when the road becomes submerged. 
In Bamburgh we snacked on a deliously famous meat pie. We enjoyed good birdwatching on the road to Seahouses. 
Byers Green just outside Durham for the night. Uber Eats delivered curry to the room. 
The next day we spent a great time at Durham Cathedral. 
Here's our first ride on public transport since before lockdown. 
We drove through the North Pennines to follow Hadrians Wall westwards and we enjoyed the Vindolanda Roman Museum. 
Most nights I try and find us a traditional BnB for the night with a cosy pub for dinner and a Full English in the morning. The Belted Will Inn in Hallbankgate fitted that bill just fine.
