We swopped timeshare points for a week in a cabin at the Pine Lake Resort near Lancaster which proved to be an excellent location to explore both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
The days were getting shorter so we tried to be out early to make the most of the day light hours; enjoying lunches out most days. 
By 5pm it was dark so we would head back to the cabin for an early supper and some TV. 
Neil is obsessed with scouting the charity shops and bought us games to play too. 
Stephen even found his Christmas sweater at a charro.

The Forbidden Garden in Middleham is a quirkily themed garden or folly that will bring out the child in you.
