Namibia 2022 : Etosha

Thursday 20 to Monday 24 January
Creatures of habit, we chose pitch 34 at Okaukeujo, the main camp in Etosha. We stayed 5 nights here, preferring not to break camp and move every few days.
Great cooking, good wine, chilled sunsets.
Travelling during the pandemic we have learnt that visiting places during the so called low season is great. Etosha in January meant seeing a lot of migratory birds, lots of baby animals and predators following close on the heels of the nursery herds. We watched a hyena chase down, isolate and catch a baby springbok.
It rained quite a bit. There was standing water all over and the park was so lush and green. Still the elephant herds and black rhinos visited the waterhole everyday.
